School Dragon Boat Challenge: Team Registration

The 2018 Dream Factory Manitoba School Dragon Boat Challenge is taking place on Sunday, June 3rd and will feature Junior and Senior high school students from across the province competing for the title of Dragon Boat Champion. This event is in support of our charity partner The Dream Factory. Each team registration includes two, one hour practices, along with all the equipment and training necessary to compete. Practices and Event will be held at the MB Canoe & Kayak Center at 80 Churchill Dr. (subject to change due to water levels)

Junior - Grades 7, 8, 9

Senior - Grades 10, 11, 12


Teams are made up of 16 to 23 participants (maximum 1 teacher per boat). A dragon boat holds 20 paddlers and 1 drummer, of which a minimum 8 paddlers must be female to participate in the Mixed category.

Practices are held throughout the month of May (days, evenings, or weekends) and comply with the safety guidelines outlined in the Winnipeg School Divisions Field Trips & Excursions policies manual (Water/ Swimming Activities).

Teams that enter will receive pledge forms and have the option of fundraising. All the money raised goes directly to The Dream Factory to fulfil Dreams of Manitoba children battling life threatening illness. To pledge online contact

Payments received by March 31, 2018 qualify for early bird pricing of $475. Payments received on or after April 1, 2018, will pay the full cost of $525. Pricing includes GST (GST #133362780)
