The Manitoba Paddling Association is proud to offer competitive programs for youth & adults at our training centers in Winnipeg, Selkirk, Sanford, Minnedosa and St. Theresa Point.
There are a number of competitive disciplines active in Manitoba, including Olympic Style Sprint Canoe & Kayak, Marathon Canoe & Kayak, and Dragon Boat. You can review the information posted under "MPA Clubs" for an overview of the programs available at your nearest center or contact us if you require more detailed information.
The Manitoba Paddling Association is fortunate to have a staff of excellent coaches who develop talented athletes to represent us at the Canada Games, North American Indigenous Games, National Championships, World Championships, and the Olympic Games. They participate in rigorous year-round training programs and compete in a number of regattas during the busy summer competitive season. Youth Paddling - Winnipeg
Are you considering registering your youth in our Youth Paddling Program? During the summer, we practice at 9 AM weekdays, it is not however manditory to attend every practice. We understand that todays youth have busy lives, especially during the summer months. During the school year, we meet on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:30 PM and Saturdays from 9 AM.
When the season prevents us from paddling on the water, we turn to other fun sports such as soccer, skiing, skating on the river trail (the trail comes right by our club), running, weight training, training on the stationary bikes at the Sport Manitoba Building, and swimming.
In addition, these youth have the opportunity to participate in Training Camps in both Canada and the USA.
Are you interested in participating in our of our high performance Training Camps? Contact us to get all the details on camps for the upcoming year.
